Permissions for Universal Robots
For Firmware Release v2.8.2 and UR Cap v1.3
This manual covers configuring access of a VIM-303 camera to a Universal Robots brand robot.
Security and Access
Since PolyScope v5.18, Universal Robots has closed access to Ethernet ports to the robot by default. The VIM-303 needs access to certain ports of the robot in order to control it for vision guidance purposes. Specifically, it needs Secure Shell (SSH) access to copy the camera’s command_processor. script code to the robot. It needs access to several services on the robot, including the Dashboard Server, Primary and Secondary Client interface, Real-Time client interface, Real-Time Data Exchange (RTDE), and Interpreter mode socket. This document explains how to allow the VIM-303 camera to gain access to these robot services.
Initial Setup
Follow the instructions in the Unboxing and Hardware Assembly Manual and the UR Cap Manual in order to configure the camera’s IP address and robot’s IP address within the same Ethernet subnet.
